National Library Week at CMU

National Library Week at CMU. Who says only public librarians can have fun during National Library Week? Events are in full swing as Central Michigan University celebrates NLW April 3 to April 7th, 2006.

Events this year include a Stump the Librarian Contest, raffles, trivia contests, riddle contests, informational talks, and a faculty book reception as well as a few other things. Pictured above is me yet again as the "Amazing Lorenzen" as I tell patrons how magical the library is especially our new link resolver Find it!

I hope every librarian out there in the USA (school, public, academic, or special) is doing something to acknowledge National Library Week.

Do you have to be a CMU student to play stump the librarian or can anyone enter?

Anyone can enter. The contest is open to the community. However, winners must claim the prizes in person at the library. Further, most of the prizes are gift certificates to local eating establishments.

So, I doubt we get too many enteries from non-area residents.

Do you think you can stump us? :]

Probably not...but I thought about trying. But since I'm not going to claim a prize in person...
