Information Literacy Roundtable Spring Workshop 2007 -- Call for Posters
Poster Proposal Deadline: January 17, 2007
All interested librarians & information professionals are encouraged to submit a poster proposal that features best practices in use of technology to push information literacy or research skills to their patrons.

Poster Session and Reception will be held March 9, 2007 at the ILR Spring Workshop:Central Michigan UniversityPark Library250 East Preston StreetMount Pleasant, MI 48859.
All posters must be removed immediately after poster reception.
Please note that Poster Session presenters will be required to register and pay registration fees for the Information Literacy Roundtable spring workshop, Fast, Cheap & In Control: Web Search and Technology for Your Library. General Poster InformationThe Information Literacy Roundtable is seeking poster presenters from academic, public, school or special libraries. The primary purpose of the poster session is to provide opportunities for informal discussions with colleagues about using technology to help patrons use information more effectively, and to teach information literacy. (Examples of topics covered during the workshop include: new search engine tools, Google, RSS, blogs.)Each presenter will have access to a 48 in. (high) x 48 in. (wide) x 36 in. (deep) space (half of an 8 ft. long table) for their poster presentation. Please note: electricity and Internet access will not be available for poster presentations.
Deadline: Prospective poster presenters are required to submit a short abstract (no more than 200 words) using the Proposal Template (see other attachment) via e-mail to kelleher at alma.edu. After a peer-review process, accepted presenters will be notified by February 1. ILR will provide a limited number of tri-fold project display boards (measuring 36” x 48”) on which presenters may display their poster, as well as several easels.
Handouts and other give-away materials are appreciated by poster viewers. Push-pins will be available in the poster area on a first-come, first-served basis. We recommend that you bring your own to ensure availability. All material must be removable.
Poster Content Might Include:
Title of the project, presenter names and affiliations.
Major activity of the project.
Project approach, plan of action or method.
Major expectations, findings, lessons learned or product developed.
Demonstration of how project links to established curricular or information literacy standards
Benefits of the project in regards to teaching patrons information literacy or research skills.
